Why don't we start taking practical classes from the beginning of the course?

Because you need to have some previous knowledge of the basics of Microbiology & Immunology.

Why are we taking our practical classes in the evening?

Because there are too many students to fit in the morning class. But if you take your Microbiology class in the evening, your Pathology or Pharmacology class will be in the morning, and vice versa.

Will all practical lessons taken be covered in the practical exam?

Yes they will be covered in the practical exam, so attendance is compulsory.

Will you display more MCQs on the DMI web site?

Yes, we will add new MCQs regularly, so visit our site frequently to catch up with the additions.

Why don't you show us the answers to these MCQ samples?

We did not show the answers, because we don't want lazy students (if there any) to just memorize the answers without looking them up. We suggest you open your books for each MCQ that you don't know the answer to, and find it. That way, you will learn more.

Do you take our suggestions, comments and requests into consideration?

We do take every single suggestion into consideration (no matter how impossible or sometimes silly they are!!!), you just have to visit this FAQs page and you will find most of your comments answered.

Is there a mid term exam for Microbiology?

There will be no Midterm exam (at least, to our best knowledge). You may wish to go to the deans office and ask there!!

Are there any marks for attending practical classes?

Yes, there will be 10 marks for attending and completing the lab book questions. The lab book will be collected at the end of the year before the final lab exam.

Can I change my final oral exam committee?

No, you can not change your committee. If you don't show up at your designated exam committee, you might be considered absent from the exam. Each committee has a certain number of students allocated to them, and naturally, at the end of the oral exam the examiners will give a "Zero" mark to absent students.

Will there be Short Notes or Essay questions in the final exam or just MCQs?

The written exam will consist of MCQs, True & False, and Matching. There will be no Short Notes or Essays. We strongly recommend that you see the "Exam Samples" page of this website, to have an idea about how the exam will look like.
